Anytime you are contacted, be it via email or telephone, it is VERY important that you know who you are speaking to, and that you validate the person and the information that they are telling you.
If at all you are unsure, ask them for their contact information and let them know you will call them back. Then contact the company or individuals directly, to validate this persons request, using a phone number or email obtained through the actual company website or another reputable source.
Here are some rules of things to remember to help keep you and your information safe:
NEVER allow anyone access into your computer!
NEVER provide anyone, over the phone or on the computer, your personal information or Identification, unless you have fully validated them
NEVER allow anyone access into your online banking, to view or send any money, anywhere on your behalf!
NEVER provide anyone your login credentials to your Catalyx account! (or any account for that matter!)
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
Here are some tips of things to look out for, when being solicited by phone or email.
Have you ever done business with this company before? Do you know who they are?
Check the phone number calling you on the call display-
Does it present the company name? If not, please be cautious as it may be a scammer, pretending to be part of that company.
If you don't know the phone number or the company- Do not answer the phone, let them leave you a message and validate the information in the message before calling them back
Always validate incoming emails you receive.
Check the email address it is being sent from- Is it from @businessname.ca, or .com or .io, if it isn't, please be cautious.
Try googling the company to find a contact us section or email from their direct website, and reach out to them inquiring on the email received.
Do not disclose private and confidential information about yourself within an email, as you never know who may be able to intercept the email.
We are a trustworthy company; however, scammers do exist and you should be mindful when speaking with anyone over the internet or telephone, especially if they claim to work for Catalyx.
**It was brought to our attention that there are individuals out there claiming to work at Catalyx, or a third party investment firm associated with Catalyx, reaching out to people via email or phone, advising them that their investment of XX Cryptocurrency has increased in value and is now worth $XXXX, and in order to receive some of the earnings you must invest more.
- CATALYX WOULD NEVER DO THIS!
They inform the individual that they are located in London, United Kingdom
- CATALYX IS A CANADIAN COMPANY, WE DO NOT HAVE EMPLOYEES IN LONDON
They tell the individual that they must register for a Catalyx account, and therefore would like access to their computer in order to help them to open an account
- CATALYX WOULD NEVER ASK YOU FOR ACCESS INTO YOUR COMPUTER, WE DO HELP WITH ACCOUNT OPENINGS, BUT NOT IN THIS WAY
Once the account is opened, in the days following they try to access the account, and ask the individual to provide the 2FA code
- CATALYX WOULD NEVER DO THIS! THIS INFORMATION IS PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL AND SHOULD NEVER BE SHARED WITH ANYONE!
They instruct the individual to log into their online banking in order to deposit more funds to their account, and so that they can retrieve their banking information in order to send their earnings to them
- CATALYX WOULD NEVER DO THIS, YOUR BANKING INFORMATION IS PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL AND SHOULD NEVER BE SHARED WITH ANYONE!
Once their account is funded they request to regain access to the individuals computer in order to process a trade for more Cryptocurrency
- CATALYX WOULD NEVER FORCE/MAKE ANYONE TO PLACE A TRADE
Once the trade is processed they then initiate a withdrawal of that Cryptocurrency, claiming that once it is received in the external account, they will send a portion of the earnings they have to them, within 30 minutes!
- CATALYX WOULD NEVER DO THIS, YOUR EARNINGS ARE YOUR EARNINGS AND SHOULD YOU WANT TO WITHDRAW THEM, YOU CAN WITHOUT HAVING TO INVEST MORE.
Users have also been DM’ed through Telegram requesting funds be sent to a synced external wallet regarding a pending Transfer request.
-CATALYX WOULD NEVER ASK YOU TO SEND FUNDS ANYWHERE, ESPECIALLY TO AN EXTERNAL WALLET SOMEWHERE
We highly recommend that ALL Catalyx users take the time to educate themselves on the current scams associated with Cryptocurrency, so to prevent yourself from becoming a victim of any one of these types of fraud.
Should you or anyone you know of become a victim of fraud, please refer to this resource, for more information on what to do, and the necessary steps that should be taken, so that it doesn't happen again!
