How to Register for a Personal Account with Catalyx.

Catalyx offers two types of accounts, Personal and Corporate.

You can register for a Personal Catalyx account, by clicking here and following the steps below. Should you want to open a Corporate account, you must first open a Personal account, then click here, and follow the steps provided.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you start the registration process, you must complete it in full. Should you stop half way through registering your email, you will not be able to access the site again. Should this happen, please email us, for assistance.

  • Step 1: You will enter an "Email", that you would like all Catalyx communications to go to and a 'Password' that meets the requirements below.

    The password must include at-least one of the following:

    - Lowercase letter(s)

    - Number(s)

    - Uppercase letter(s)

    - Symbol (s)

    - Must be between 8- 50 characters in length

  • Step 2: Read over the Catalyx Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (which can also be accessed through our Support Centre, here). Once read, you will need tick the box stating that "I certify that I have read and agree to the Terms of Service".

  • Step 3: Click "Create Account"

An email will be sent to the email address you provided, within the email will be a link to "Verify Your Email".

If you did not receive the "Verify Your Email" email, click "Email didn't arrive?" to have the email resent.

Once you have received the email, clicked the "Verify Email Address" link and you will be directed to the Catalyx "Sign In" webpage where you will log into the account.

  • Step 4: Once logged in, you will be directed to setup your 2FA (Two-Factor Authenticator), for an added layer of security when accessing your account. More information and guidance on setting up your 2FA, can be found here.

Once you have entered the 2FA code/setting up the 2FA, you will be directed to the Sum & Substance widget to complete your ID verification. This can also be accessed in the Identification tab, which is located along the top of the Dashboard (if on a PC), or in the My Account Dropdown section (if on a mobile device), should it not launch on it's own.

You must confirm that you have read the Privacy Notice (of our KYC provider- Sum & Substance) and give consent to the processing of your personal data, and then click next.

Through this process you will be required to provide a Valid piece of Identification, as well as a selfie video and a proof of address document.

  • Step 5: Now you will need to provide a Valid piece of Government Issued Identification, by following the prompts on the screen, you can choose whether you want to upload an existing photo, or take a photo with your device now.

Identification options are:
- Passport
- Driver's License
- Other Government Issued ID-
- Provincial ID Card

- Certificate of Canadian Citizenship (with photo)
- Permanent Resident Card

Then Click Next

*Please note: Should you wish to use your Driver's License as your proof of address document (required later in the process), you MUST use a different form of Identification, it cannot be the same.

  • Step 6: You will now be prompted to complete a Selfie Video. The system will ask if you grant access to the camera and microphone of your device in order to do this. You must grant access to both the camera and the microphone, not granting access to this, will cause your video to fail.

    • Please be sure to follow the prompts on the screen

    • When ready, fit your face into the white square, and hit record. Make sure to recite each number presented on the screen out loud, once done, stop the recording. You now have the ability to upload that video or retake the video, should you want.

Step 7: Now you will need to provide a Proof of Address Document.

Acceptable Proof of Address documents are:
- Driver's License
- Home Utility Bill- Electric or Gas
- A property tax bill/statement
- A property tax bill/statement


* Please make sure the name on the document matches the name on your Identification and that all 4 corners of the document are in the photo (the entire page), and that no information on the document is redacted, or it will fail.

  • Step 8: You will now be asked to verify the information you have provided. If you need to change anything you can select the edit function. If everything is accurate, click "NEXT". Your ID verification will now be submitted and somewhat instantly validated.

Your account opening process is now finalized after the ID verification is validated.

FAQ's

Q1. What is my Login ID?

Your Login ID is the email in which you registered your account with.

Q2. I did not receive a verification email

1. Please verify that your email address has been entered correctly

2. Please check your spam/junk folder to see if the verification email is in there.

3. Please click "Email didn't arrive" for email to be resent

4. If you tried everything but still did not or cannot receive the email, please email us, and we will have the issue sorted out as soon as possible.

Q3. The link in the verification email does not work

If you did receive an email but did not action it within 2 hours of receiving it, you will need to re-register it, as the link will have expired. Please email us, and we will help you to do this.
